Yes, even in the UK photaging is real and daily sunscreen is thoroughly recommended unless you are staying home. 

Broadly speaking spf is either mineral based with ingredients such as zinc oxide and titanium oxide forming a physical barrier to deflect harmful rays or chemical. Containing ingredients like avobenzone, oxybenzone, and octinoxate which absorb and release the rays away from your skin.

Both have their merits, many of us have our preference, we believe our options are a great introduction to both.
