Q: What is K-beauty and why is it different from Western skincare? K-beauty (Korean beauty) is a skincare philosophy and product category originating in South Korea. It emphasises skin barrier health, hydration layering and gentle, ingredient-led formulations.
K-beauty routines are often multi-step, but the philosophy prioritises long-term skin health over quick fixes.
Korean skincare brands are known for innovative active ingredients such as ceramides, peptides, PDRN, centella asiatica, ginseng, niacinamide, galactomyces, bifida and fermented extracts, often at a lower price point than comparable Western products.
Q: Is 3East based in the UK? Yes. 3East is a UK-based retailer. All orders are dispatched from within the UK, with domestic delivery available across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Q: Who curates the products at 3East? All products at 3East are selected and tested by Kat Hicken, a licensed acupuncturist and facial therapist. Kat used Asian skincare in her clinical practice for years and tests every product in-house before it is added to the site. For this very reason, new products take a while to be added as we source and test prior to release.

Q: Are the products genuine/authentic? Yes. All products sold by 3East are authentic and sourced directly from brand distributors or authorised suppliers. We do not stock grey market or unverified products.

Hydration & Barrier Repair
For compromised, dehydrated or sensitised skin, a well-functioning skin barrier is the foundation of everything else. We stock formulations built around proven barrier actives, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, panthenol and squalane that work to restore and maintain the skin’s natural protective layer.
